Illinois workNet is offering orientation sessions for individuals interested in obtaining grants for training and skill development. These sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month at 9:30am in the Book Discussion Room at Skokie Public Library. You must register with Illinois workNet to attend.
Services are provided through the Illinois workNet Center located in Evanston. To register for the orientation or for more information, call 847-864-3530 x243.
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program combines federally funded job training programs in Illinois into a workforce development system where individuals can find a job or train for a new career. Participants could be eligible for a training voucher available for approved trainings at approved training providers for up to $3,000.
There is no fee to participate in this program.

The group meets at Skokie Public Library on the third Monday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00am and is moderated by Maxine Topper, a licensed career counselor from Jewish Vocational Service.
