Golden Apple recently announced the names of 32 finalists for the 2013 Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching at the high school level. Niles North High School chemistry teacher John Kretsos was among those selected from a pool of 510 nominations.

Niles West Physical Welfare teacher and girls gymnastics coach Pam Foerch has been voted into the Illinois High School Girls’ Gymnastics Coaches Association (IHSGGCA ) Hall of Fame. She will be formally inducted February 16 at a ceremonial luncheon at the IHSA Girls Gymnastics State Finals.
